My black hen

Salam,

Today,I will be featuring my black hen.

She had a very solid body with heavy boned structure. She's at 10 months old and already laying eggs.

I merely can found her today, maybe she started to incubate her eggs somewhere in the bushes.Hopefully to see her this week to monitor her egg condition.

This strain known to be brainless and hard punching gamefowl. It can hatch her own egg and a good protective mother. It only came on small pea comb and dark legged, both red and wine red in color with some in lemon hackle and big eyes too.The feathers quite different from others, came on glossy oily looking feathering.

more to come...

Breeding season

Salam,

I have started breeding for this season since early October.I obtained 5 chicks out of the mating. This is my Kelso Sweater crosses. The hen laid 7 eggs and 5 were hatched. It a good start for the breeding season.

Here they are....

The other 2 smaller chicks were an experimental hatching on a new pullet. She lay only 3 eggs and 2 of them were hatched. They were grey crosses.

I will be using 5 hens and 2 pullets for November till early January breeding session. For the afterward,I will be using a sweater lemon and a grey kelso pullet, since the other two were not ready yet until January.

I will be focusing on grey hatch crosses since I like the way they move and hopefully I can meet my target of a 40 stags for this breeding season.

Until next writing.

Ranging site

السلام عليكم

This is where I range my chicken until harvesting. Its a rubber tree farm and next to it,is a paddy field and a pepper trees. My chicken will eat mostly on grass and insects and supplemented by poultry feed.

I maintain the farm to be dry at all time by ensuring no water trapment. The farm is at higher ground (elevated site),and the drain is not needed. There is no puddle in the farm area thus will slimming the chances of disease outbreak.

Till next post..
